Al-Ahram Weekly | International | Punishing Denmark
Al-Ahram Weekly | International | Punishing Denmark: "if Arabs can be so efficient in organising such popular (and effective) campaigns that utilise economic, political and diplomatic leverage to extract concessions, then why the utter failure to carry out such campaigns protesting against the US war on Iraq, its unconditional support of Israel and its condescending foreign policy and grand democracy charades it wishes to impose on everyone?"
Unfortunately, the answer is simple. To remain in conflict seems to in the interest of certain religious leaders. Even more unfortunate is that Norwegian religious leadres are using this situation make a "comeback" for the Church in public life.

BBC NEWS | Europe | France enters Muslim cartoon row: "France Soir said it had published the cartoons to show that 'religious dogma' had no place in a secular society."

Norway, a peace scam
Norske farger i brann på Gaza: "«Død over dere!» "i
Translation (?): "Death over You"
The Norwegian Flag is burnt at Gaza. The reason is that a Norwegian and a Danish newspaper printed cartoons of the suggested prophet Muhammed, an impotant figure in the mythology of Islam.
In Scandivania, freedom of speech have been implemented over the latest decades. Since 1992 more than one TV channel have been allowed in Norway, despite the efforts by the Labour goverment to stop it. Norways minister of foreign policy, Jonas Støre, have made made diplomatic moves in this case that implies that Freedom of Speech may be limited. The immidiate result was threats and flag burning. Toying with anti-democratic ideology is always dangerous, and not much wiser than US president Bush's policy of continued warfare. For the aspiring politician this is a game of opporunity, and the Oslo deal the arrowhead for those aiming at an international carreer. Pharses like "the Oslo deal is at risk" is more common in the norwegian press, than possible phases like "More palestinians killed by Noregian equiped soldiers". The "Oslo deal" is some sort af a holy grail of norwegian foreign policy. That seems strange in a country where more than 50% of the members of parliament used to be members of the "Friends of Israel" community. This is an extreme organisation with ideological roots in the idea of Golda Meir: "Palestine does not exist, nor do the Palestinians"
Støre has also stopped a boycot action against Israel, due to pressure from the US. The aim of the boycott was to stop the crimes against the Palestinians that Israel and US puth forth with their military and colonial warfare.
It was also the Norwgian labour party that gave heavy water to Israel, and thus introduced nuclear warfare in the Middle East. Think of that the next time you hear those serious voices talk about the Iranian situation, or the need of Hamas to put down their guns.
Greetings from Norway!

Native americans killed themselves
Over the past years I have received a lot of nice mails from readers of the blog. One of the most asked question is if I have got a lot of hate mail. The answer is that I have not. I guess there have been two.
The latest suggested that I could leave the US if I was dissapointet! A typical anti democratic stace, I would say. Any, I got carried away, and sent a amil that was not to friendly, and featured some ironic Points: JIM jlincke1044@wowway.com pointed out that people have died for my welfare, and I replied that I knew that the slaves and the native Americans died for my welfare.
JIM, the patriot(?), replied that the Native Americans killed themselves!
Is that really a part of american mythology, or in some way an acceptable point of view in USA? Over here, som people denies Holocaust. I guess it is the same kind of people that put forth the idea of native Americans as masters of their own Genocide!
